Unlock PDF

Remove the open password, or the printing and copying limits, from PDFs you're allowed to open, such as bank statements and e-Aadhaar. Unlock several at once with the same password.

Tip: choose several files at once to process them all with the same settings.

How to use it

  1. 1Choose a PDF, or several that share the same password.
  2. 2If it asks for a password, type it. A PDF that only blocks printing or copying unlocks without one.
  3. 3Select Unlock PDF and download the copy, which opens without a password.

Frequently asked questions

What is the password of the e-Aadhaar PDF?

It's the first four letters of your name as printed on the Aadhaar, in capital letters, followed by your year of birth in YYYY form. So for the name Sunita Sharma it's SUNI followed by the four digits of the year: SUNIYYYY.

What is the password of my bank statement PDF?

Each bank sets its own rule, and the email that brings the statement usually explains it. Common ones are your date of birth (as DDMMYYYY or DDMM), part of your name with your date of birth, or your customer ID. Once you have it, you can unlock all your statements together.

I forgot the password. Can you recover it?

No, and that's on purpose: this tool only removes a password you already know. It doesn't guess or break passwords. Ask whoever sent the PDF, such as your bank, for the password or a fresh copy.

My PDF opens, but it won't let me print or copy. Can I fix that?

Yes. Such a PDF has restrictions set with an owner password but no open password, and this tool removes them without asking for one. Do it only for files you're allowed to print or copy.

Can't find what you need?
