Frequently asked questions
How do I convert WAV to MP3?
Choose the WAV file, keep MP3 selected and press Convert to MP3. At 192 kbps it sounds the same as the original to most people, in a file about seven times smaller.
Which bitrate should I choose?
128 kbps is plenty for speech, lectures and voice notes. For music, 192 kbps is a good choice and 320 kbps is the most MP3 allows. A higher bitrate can't bring back quality a file has already lost.
Why can't I see M4A, OGG or FLAC?
Only the formats your browser can make are listed. MP3 and WAV work everywhere. M4A (AAC) and OGG (Opus) need a browser that can encode them, such as a recent Chrome or Edge, and FLAC appears only in a browser that can make it.
Can I convert WhatsApp voice notes or iPhone recordings?
Yes. WhatsApp voice notes are Opus files (.opus or .ogg) and iPhone Voice Memos are M4A. Both open here and can be saved as MP3, which plays on any phone or computer.
Is there a size limit?
Files up to 1 GB, and results up to 1 GB. A long recording saved as WAV reaches that soonest (about 1 hour 40 minutes in CD quality), so the tool tells you before it starts and suggests MP3 or mono instead.
