Frequently asked questions
Will black-and-white scans stay sharp?
Yes. Black-and-white pages are kept exactly, at one bit per pixel, so text stays crisp and the PDF stays small. Fax pages go in as they are, without being converted.
What page size does the PDF get?
With As scanned, each page is the size the TIFF says it is, from its DPI, so an A4 scan becomes an A4 page. Choose A4 or Letter to fit every page on that paper, turned sideways for wide pages.
Can I join several TIFF files into one PDF?
Yes. Add them all and put them in order: every page of every file goes into one PDF, up to 500 pages.
How can I make the PDF smaller?
Colour and grey pages are saved as JPEG inside the PDF, so lowering the quality makes it smaller. Black-and-white pages are already as small as they can be.
