Increase File Size to 200 KB

Make a photo, signature or PDF at least 200 KB for a form that rejects small files. Invisible padding is added, so the picture and pages look exactly the same.

Tip: choose several files at once to process them all with the same settings.

The minimum is already set to 200 KB: add your file and press Increase size. It comes out a little over 200 KB, so it passes whether the form counts 1 KB as 1000 or 1024 bytes.

  2. 2Type the minimum size the form asks for in KB, and the maximum if it has one.
  3. 3Press Increase size.
  4. 4Check the new size, then download the file.

Frequently asked questions

How do I increase a photo's size to 50 KB?

Add the photo, type 50 as the minimum and press Increase size. Invisible padding is added inside the file until it is just over 50 KB. The picture, its width and height and its quality stay exactly the same.

Will the form accept the bigger file?

It stays a normal JPG, PNG or PDF that every viewer opens. JPGs get comment sections, PNGs a private chunk and PDFs an unused object, all of which programs are made to skip. Forms check the size and the format, and both are right.

Does it make the photo sharper or bigger in pixels?

No. It only adds bytes; the width, height and quality stay the same. To change the pixels, use Resize Image.

My file is already bigger than the minimum. What happens?

You get it back unchanged, and the tool tells you so. If it is over the form's maximum instead, use Compress Image or Compress PDF.

Is 1 KB 1000 or 1024 bytes here?

For the minimum we count 1024 bytes per KB and add about 1 KB more, so the file passes either way. A maximum is counted as 1000 bytes per KB, the stricter reading.
